Mary Beth Kenny
After a long, full life, Mary Beth Kenny, 89, passed peacefully into eternity with God, Monday, July 16, 2018, having been surrounded by 38 members of her family all day. Kenny Jr., daughter Kathleen Hans, son Joseph F. III, and grandson, Taylor E. Kenny. The last of her generation, she was a much-loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, devoted, strong, and faithful, who will be much missed as the matriarch of her family and clan. In addition to her surviving brothers-in-law Father John F. Kenny of Childs, MD, and Frank Kenny of Bradenton, FL, she is survived by 101 descendants: daughter Elizabeth Hudak of Hagerstown, MD, and the 5 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren by her and her husband Alan; the 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren by her late daughter Kathleen Hans, formerly of Matthews, NC, and husband Ed; Colleen Cooney of Maple Grove, MN and the 3 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren by her and her husband Keith; the 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren by her late son, Joseph F. III, formerly of Hummelstown, and his wife Jane; her son Kevin of Duncannon, and the 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren by him and his wife Linda; her son Shawn of Harrisburg, and the 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren by him and his wife Judy; her son Chris of Harrisburg, and the 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild by him and his wife Ann; and her son Will of Harrisburg, and the five grandchildren by him and his wife Dana. As testament to her legacy, her sons and daughters did not love her alone, but their wives and husbands loved and cared for her to the end, as if they were her own blood.
Visitation with the family will be 10:00am - 11:00am Monday, July 23, at St. Catherine Laboure Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg, PA, followed by a funeral Mass and luncheon.
