Raymond R. Ravida Sr.

Raymond F. Ravida, Sr., 86, of Susquehanna Twp. passed away Saturday, November 14th, peacefully, at Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle PA. Raymond was born in Johnstown, PA on October 29, 1929, a son of the late Angela (Costello) and Anthony Ravida. He was a member of Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church Harrisburg. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a self-employed Chemical Engineer and was a Registered Professional Engineer who retired at the age of Eighty-Three. Raymond is survived by his wife of 62 years Aileen A. (Carino) Ravida, a daughter, Katherine A. wife of Timothy J. Edler, of Greenville, DE.; a son, Raymond F. Ravida Jr., of Boiling Springs PA.; a sister, Betty Lou Medvic, of Philadelphia.; a brother, Joseph Ravida, of Ohio; and a granddaughter, Jessica A. Edler.  He was predeceased by a sister, Marie Harris of Souderton, Pa and two brothers,  G. Thomas of Johnstown, PA and Anthony J. of Pittsburgh, PA.  A viewing will be held from 12 Noon until 1:00 P.M. at Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church, Harrisburg, PA, on Thursday, November 19, 2015.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following in the church at 1:00 PM with Rev Paul C. Helwig officiating.  A viewing will also be held at Henderson Funeral Home 215 Central Avenue Johnstown PA. 15902 from 12 Noon until 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Johnstown PA.
