Obituary of Wallace S. Stoddart Jr.

Wallace S. Stoddart, Jr., aged 81, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. Wallace (Wally) was born in Panama City, Panama to Wallace S. Stoddart, Sr. and Ana Arosemena. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Stoddart, his father, mother, and sister, Mildred B. Coburn.
Wallace dedicated 31 years of his career to the Pennsylvania State Police Central Supply Section before retiring. He will be remembered as a great storyteller who would entertain family and friends for hours with his tales. He was also known for his passion for World War II history and weaponry, his extensive toy car collection, especially Hess trucks, and his love for music and dancing. During his retirement, Wally enjoyed working as a chauffeur and personal driver, and relishing in meals at every diner he encountered. Wally will be remembered for his quick wit, his loyal friendship, and the joy he brought to his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Jason Stoddart, married to April; his daughter, Joana Benner, married to Thomas; his four grandchildren, Luke, Evan, Sophia, and Chase; and his brothers, Edward and John Stoddart.
Wally’s family will receive relatives and friends on 11:00AM, Friday, May 30, 2025, at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, followed by the celebration of Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00PM. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery immediately following services.
