Ann Litzelman, age 72, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, at Carolyn's House hospice in Harrisburg, PA.
Ann was born on August 5, 1952, and grew up in Dushore, PA. She was the daughter of J. Bernard (Bernie) and Mary Litzelman. Ann was a child psychologist with a career devoted to youth mental health, earning a Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and Master’s from Mansfield University. She held a number of positions, including working for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and teaching at Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC). She leaves behind a legacy of advancing youth mental health in Pennsylvania.
Ann was a Roman Catholic by faith, and an active parishioner of St. Margaret Mary church in Harrisburg, where she served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. She enjoyed traveling, quilting, planting flowers, cooking, and canning fruits and relishes, sharing the fruits of her labor with family and friends through her homemade gifts.
Ann is survived by her nephew, Scott Litzelman, and Scott's wife Christine Ng of Arlington, VA; her nieces Marie Litzelman of Mills River, NC and Jennifer Litzelman of Charlotte; NC, her sister-in-law Denise Litzelman of Charlotte, NC; and her great-nieces Cora Litzelman and Phoebe Litzelman. Ann is also survived by a number of cherished, life-long friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Litzelman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church at 2800 Paxton Church Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17110, on July 19 at 1:00 pm. Visitation is available at the church beginning at 12:00 pm.
