John G. Chortanoff age 66, of Harrisburg, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025 at his home with his loved ones by his side. John was born on March 17, 1959 in Harrisburg and was a son of the late Kiral G. and Vasse (Betrov) Chortanoff.

John retired from Fry Communications after years of service as a forklift operator. John had a passion for fishing and spent many days enjoying the local waters. John could also be found “Scrapping” picking up metal recyclables and taking his recent finds to the local recycle center. He would often pick up bicycles and repair them, and then give them to the local neighborhood kids.

Surviving are his partner of 27 years, Sondra K. Peterson, a brother, Anthony Chortanoff, cousins, Gorgi Mihajlov and Dragica Mihajlova.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 1:00 pm. in the Dailey Funeral Home. Viewing will be held from 11 to 1:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Harrisburg.
