Shane D. Diehl, 56, passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on
Friday, January 30, 2026.
He is survived by his husband, Mark Weber; his sister, Lisa Witmer
and husband, Alan; his brother, John Diehl and wife, MarySue; his
aunt, Joyce Murphy; and his uncle, Gary Keister and wife, Mary.
Shane and Mark met through mutual friends in 2003 and started
their journey together in 2004, marrying officially on August 24,
2018. Shane and Mark enjoyed spending time with friends and
traveling to New York City; Pine Grove Furnace State Park; Lake
Wallenpaupack; and Provincetown, Massachusetts.
Shane spent his professional career as an IT consultant working for
various state agencies and projects. Shane enjoyed gardening,
cooking, and spending times with friends, sharing good food and
lively conversation. He was also a voracious reader and enjoyed
spending a day talking about the books with his book club. In the
last few years, Shane loved spending time with his husband, cats,
and friends in their new home and dream-come-true swimming pool.
He was an avid supporter of environmental protection, LGBTQ+, and
other progressive causes. Shane was an advocate for the
marginalized and underprivileged communities.
A celebration of Shane’s life will be planned at the convenience of
family and friends.
