Obituary of John Jeffrey Grissinger

John Jeffrey "GUS" Grissinger, Loving husband and father, left this earth on September 11, 2016 in the comfort of his home with family. He was born October 24, 1954, son of John Phillip Grissinger and Virginia Mae Houser Grissinger, both deceased. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Jean Grissinger. Survived by his wife of 33 years, Cathy Louise Kennedy Grissinger, and their 3 children and families, Joshua Jeff Grissinger and Andrea, Erin Michelle Grissinger Ryan and Jon, Sean Paul Grissinger and Sarah Mumper; and 2 grandchildren, whom he adored, Elijah Evan Grissinger and Evelyn Louise Grissinger; 2 sisters, Ginny Grissinger, Judy Burgess Bitowf and Terry. He is also survived by 5 nieces and 4 nephews, and a multitude of family and friends. He was an Honor Graduate from Staunton Military Academy, VA He was also a proud member of Local #520 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. Gus was an avid hunter and sportsman. He loved being in mountains or on the beach. He always put his family first. He enjoyed life. Loved watching our children and grandchildren grow. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend. We will miss him forever. He was diagnosed with ALS in 2012, and fought to stay with us for 4 more years He is at Peace now.
