Obituary of Anna T. Keel
Anna T. Keel, 93, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 17th surrounded by her family. She was born October 27th, 1921 in Steelton Pa.. She was the daughter of the late Hugo A. Schutzenbach and Fay L. (Longenecker) Schutzenbach. She graduated from William Penn High School in 1940. She was formerly employed by the Pa. Department of Labor and Industry Unemployment Compensation Board of Review as a statistical clerk, preparing unemployment reports. She worked 11 years, took time off to raise her children, then returned to her job for another 14 years. She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, where she sang and served the church choir as secretary and treasurer for 40 years. During the church Festivals, she roamed the crowd as "Daisy" the clown. Children and adults alike enjoyed posing with her for pictures. During World War II, she attended dances at Fort Indiantown Gap where she jitterbugged and waltzed to her heart's content. Christmas was always a special time in the Keel home, and Anna was the creative person when it came to ideas for our traditional Christmas platform.
Anna is survived by her husband of 65 years Charles, daughter Cathy Keel at home, son Stephen and wife Rose Keel of Mechanicsburg, granddaughter Brianne and her husband Bryan Davis of Camp Hill, grandson Patrick Keel of Mechanicsburg, and 2 great-grandsons Colin and Cayden of Camp Hill. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 23rd at St. Margaret Mary Church. The viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 at the church with the mass following at 11:00. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Margaret Mary church.
