Obituary of Joseph J. Zogby
Joseph J. Zogby passed away Sunday surrounded by family. Joe's pastor Fr. Sullivan performed a bedside prayer service with the family. Joe was born in Shenandoah Pennsylvania on October 18, 1932 a son to the late Sed and Celaney (Mandour) Zogby. Joe received his education from Shenandoah Catholic High School and McCanns School of Business in Mahanoy City. Joe was a veteran of the Korean War. Joe enjoyed his Parish Saint Catherine Laboure, eating and shopping in the Harrisburg area with family and friends, and especially craft and antique shops. Joe worked for the Commonwealth's Department of Labor and Industry, retiring after thirty years of service. Joe enjoyed music, especially the classics, and was an active member of the Schuylkill County Choral Group and performed many solo appearances with the group. He also was a member of the Annunication Parish vaudeville shows during the 1940's and 50's.
Joe is survived by a sister Regina Zogby, a brother John Zogby, sister-in-laws Kathy and Joann, nephews and nieces; Chuck and Barbara, Ed and Kathy, Eileen and Kurt, John D. and Helen, Mark, John and Donna, Terry, Suzanne, and many grand nephews, grandnieces and great grand nephews and nieces. Joe is also predeceased by brothers, Faris, Simon, and sisters, Lila, Marie Margaret, Marie Cecelia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM; family and friends will be received from 10 to 11:00 AM in the church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Twp.
