Obituary of Juanita Johnson
Juanita Johnson, 78, of Middletown, PA., formerly of Johnstown, PA., passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital in Harrisburg, PA.
She was born on January 18, 1937 in Johnstown, PA. She's preceded in death by her mother, Frances Mae (Neal) and father, John E. Johnson Sr., along with her Godparents Julia and Joseph Kaminsky all of Johnstown, PA.
As a former native of Conemaugh, PA, Juanita graduated from East Conemaugh High School, class of 1955. She moved to Harrisburg, began her career by working for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a clerk typist with PennDot. She retired with 35 years of service. She attended Harrisburg Area Community College.
Juanita was a devoted Catholic who attended St. Francis of Assisi, Harrisburg; a former member of Sacred Heart Church, Conemaugh, PA; an avid Steelers fan, who also enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, and working in her yard.
Surviving are her loving siblings John E. Johnson, Jr. and Linda, State College, PA; James L. Johnson, Elizabeth, NJ; Jacqueline Porcher-Washington and fiancée Robert, San Francisco, CA; Joyce R. Culliver, Lompoc, CA; and Joseph F. Johnson and Alma, of Steelton, PA.
In addition, she leaves behind her devoted nephews Javian O. Baker (Wendy) and Bryant N. Baker (Kristina), of Harrisburg, Pa. Her extended family members include Robert D. Anthony and Viola, Johnstown, PA; Patsy L. Jones, Harrisburg, PA; very special lifetime friends Claudia Jones, Johnstown, PA; and Arnada (Gordon) Bailey of Little Elm, Texas. Juanita will be greatly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Francis of Assisi, 1439 Market St., Hbg, PA 17103 on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11AM. Visitation will be from 10AM-11AM on Saturday at the church. Interment will follow at the Paxtang Cemetery, 401 Kelso St., Hbg, PA 17111.
Memorial contributions may be made, in her memory to St. Francis of Assisi 1439 Market St., Hbg, PA 17103.
