Obituary of Kenneth L. Shillingsford

Kenneth Shillingsford Jr., 82, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019 at his home with his wife by his side. He is proceed in death by his parents Kenneth and Pauline Shillingsford. Ken was born and raised in Selingsgrove, Pennsylvania and graduated from Selingsgrove High School in 1954. He then went on to Thompson Institute. He served in the United States Army. After graduation he went to work for the Bodwell Company and Cosmopolitan Insurance. He retired from Consumers Insurance Company in 1986. Ken and his wife settled down in Linglestown, Pennsylvania where they raised their two children. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family, drinking a cup of coffee at Bob's Automotive, fishing and working on his tractors. He was a member of Harrisburg Hunters and Anglers, the VFW, Williams Grove Old Timers, Wheel Horse Collectors Club and the American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret "Peg" Shillingsford of Harrisburg, daughter Lori Wenrich and husband Jack of Harrisburg, granddaughter Gretchen Wenrich of Winchester, Virginia, son Andrew Shillingsford Sr. and wife Kristin of New Cumberland, granddaughter Victoria Harrell and her husband Eric of Richmond, Virginia, grandson Andrew Shillingsford Jr of New York New York. He is also survived by his twin brother John Shillingsford of Camp Hill. Services will be held on Saturday March 30, 2019 at Dailey Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM, followed by a memorial service. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Heart Association. The Dailey Funeral Home is honored to serve the Shillingsford Family.
