Obituary of Leon Branton Ulrich

Leon Branton Ulrich, 80, of Dauphin, Pennsylvania entered into eternal peace on Thursday, September 8th at the Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg Area. Leon was a respected restauranteur in the Central Pennsylvania area for 33 years. Cooking for family and friends was one of his greatest joys and many of his former guests have fond memories of enjoying delicious family meals at his restaurants. Leon also loved sports, especially football, basketball, baseball and swimming. He generously gave of his time and talents to the Dauphin Little League Athletic Association for many years. In later years, he and Shirley enjoyed attending their grandchildren's football and baseball games and cross-country events. In addition to his loving wife, Shirley, of 59 years, Leon is survived by his beloved children, Leon B. Ulrich Jr. and wife Chris of Duncannon, Pa., a daughter Sherene A. Stoneroad of Millersburg, Pa., brothers Serell I. Ulrich and Marlin G. Ulrich. his grandchildren who will always remain his pride and joy: Ashlyn A. Hawkins of Harrisburg, PA., Brian and wife Whitney Ulrich of West Jefferson, NC, Kristy and husband Corey Overstreet of Kissimmee, FL and Leon B. Ulrich III of Virginia Beach, VA. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Leon's family wishes to thank the staff of The Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg and Central Pennsylvania Hospice for their loving care, compassion and support during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Benevolent Fund of The Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg or to Central Pennsylvania Hospice.
