Obituary of Lyle B. and Dorothy L. Tidd
Lyle Barkley Tidd and Dorothy Lucille (Truitt) Tidd entered Heaven hand in hand on February 6th 2017 to be with God and family. Lyle passed away peacefully at 3am. As he had always promised, he came to get his wife Dorothy at 3pm later that same day; she passed peacefully as well. Lyle was born in New Kensington Pa to Lyle and Lelia (Smeltzer) Tidd on November 25th, 1926. Dorothy was born in New York to Harry and Roseann ( Banks) Truitt on September 15th, 1928. They were married on September 7th, 1948 at St Joseph's Catholic Church, New Kensington Pa. Lyle and Dorothy celebrated 68 years of marriage on September 7th 2016. Their love for each other was unconditional. Lyle was retired from the Air Force as a Master Sgt. and proudly served his country for 22 years. He then bought Tidds Beverage Co. and enjoyed having his own business shared with his brother James. Dorothy was a devoted housewife and stayed at home to love and raise their family. Lyle loved to play golf and shuffle board, and Dorothy loved to oil paint, as she was a great artist. After traveling the world together, retirement took them to Tampa, Florida. There, they laughed and loved their time together, as they had each day of their lives with one another, and as they will continue to in the next stage of their journey. Lyle and Dorothy are preceded in death by their Parents, Lyle and Lelia, Stepmother Agnes, Harry and Roseann, Brother Bernard, Brother In Law Donald,Niece Debbie, Niece Terry, Nephew Gary, Nephew Jonathan, and Grandchild Shawn Lyle and Dorothy are survived by his/her brother James ( Dorothy ) Tidd, sister Genevieve Stewart, sister Mary Beth ( John) Yeamans, sister Judy ( Charles) Diaz, grandchildren, Zachary Horvath,Jeremy and Joshua Johnson, Katrina Fedder, son Michael Tidd, daughter Mary Ann ( Brian) Lasher, daughter Chris Tinna (Mark) Horvath. A Mass Memorial Service will be held at 10:30am February 24th 2017 at St Katharine Drexel Church ( 1 Peter Drive Mechanicsburg Pa 17050) A luncheon will follow the service.
