Obituary of Salvatore W. Pantano
Salvatore Pantano, 85, of Harrisburg, passed away Wednesday August 20, 2014 at his home in Penbrook surrounded by his family. Salvatore was born October 18th, 1928. He was the son of the late Joseph and Michelene Pantano, and husband of the late MaryAnn Pantano. A graduate of Elizabethtown College, Salvatore was a Human Resource Specialist for The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He served for many years as president of the Harrisburg - Sons of Italy, was a member of the Penbrook Lions Club, and volunteered as a Project Coordinator for the Goodwill. A veteran of the Korean War, he served as Army Sargeant First Class and was awarded numerous medals including two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. Always passionate about creating visual spectacles he will be well remembered for his Pumpkin Displays and his artistic vision. Sam's children are Michelene, Joseph, Salvatore, Louise and the recently deceased MaryAnn.
Their spouse's whom he loved as his children are: Scott, Vicki, Elizabeth, Tony and Sydney, and his adored grandchildren, Giahna, JT, Bella, Mikayla, and Niko.
Viewings will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 6-8PM at the Dailey Funeral Home, Penbrook, and on Friday, August 29, 2014 from 9:30AM-10:30AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Friday at the church.
Burial with full military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
