Obituary of Suzanne P. Weir

Suzanne P. Weir, 86, passed peacefully on June 19, 2020. She was born on April 21, 1934 to James P. Garrity and Veronica MacNamara in Stamford, Connecticut. A graduate of Marywood College, Suzanne always had an affinity for teaching, educating at Holy Name of Jesus School in Harrisburg. Suzanne was also a devout catholic, belonging to St. Catherine Labouré Church for many years. If she was not in church or teaching, Suzanne could be found with her Lenker Manor Paxtang Women's Club, The Red Hat Society, Cat-O' Nine Tails Book Club (she was a voracious reader), or at her home in Vero Beach, Florida with her husband Joseph. Suzanne is predeceased by her loving husband of 50+ years, Joseph P. Weir Sr., her son Michael James Weir (Sue), and her brother James Garrity. She is survived by her sons Joseph P. Weir Jr. (Bonne), Tim Weir, and Christopher J. Weir (Gina), a sister Alice Pinney, grandchildren Matthew Weir, Ryan Weir, Julia Weir, Philip Weir, Nicole Headdings, and Sean Weir, and great grandchild Ruth Headdings. A viewing will be held at Gilbert L. Dailey Funeral Home, 650 South 28th Street, Harrisburg, PA 17103, on Thursday, June 25, 2020 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral mass will follow on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine Labouré Church.
