Obituary of Verna M. Wagner

Verna M (Bender) Wagner, 94 of Huntingdon died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on July 23rd. Verna was in the hotel/resort management her entire caree in the Poconos and Fort Lauderdale. Verna was an avid golfer and the highlight of her career was becoming a golf pro in the Poconos. In her retirement age she worked part-time as a receptionist at Main Stream Counseling where aha also served on the Board of Director's. During her years in Huntingdon she volunteered at The Huntingdon House. Verna has a love for people and a zest for life that all who knew her admired. Verna delighted in her role as grandmother extraordinaire to her grandchildren and their friends, engaging in all sorts of adventures and shenanigans. Verna belonged to St John's Episcopal Church in Huntingdon. Verna is survived by her daughter Lonnie (Wagner) Woomer, husband William of Huntingdon, her Grandchildren Will of Huntingdon, Madison of Hermosa Beach, CA and Naysa of Boston MA and her many Nieces and Nephews. Verna was preceded in death by her brother Meritt A Bender and sister Mary E Coffman. Services will be held at St John's Episcopal Church, Huntingdon in their Outdoor Garden with Social Distancing being practiced on Saturday August 8th. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to her church or to the Huntingdon County Humane Society.
