Obituary of Vivian A. Karl

Vivian A. Karl, 91, of Harrisburg, peacefully passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015, at Golden Living Center, Blue Ridge Mountain, Harrisburg. Vivian was born in Philadelphia, PA on April 3, 1924, a daughter of the late Peter and Vivian (Houtz) Curran. She was a member of Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Harrisburg. Vivian enjoyed her work at the Sears Department Store, and traveling with her late husband, Leo J.S. Karl, who passed in October of 1996. She was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, an avid reader and a trivia enthusiast. Vivian is survived by 4 daughters: Barbara and Richard Erbe, of Hanover, PA; Elaine Karl, of Harrisburg, PA; Eileen Karl, of Baltimore, MD; Doris and Mario Galante, of Coopersburg, PA; 2 sons: Robert Karl, of Philadelphia, PA; Philip and Julie Kibler - Karl, of East Petersburg, PA; a special niece, Diane Campanaro; Grandchildren: Jonathan Erbe; Melinda Krimmel; Daniel Erbe; Bryan Erbe; Sharon Gesell; Janice Erbe; Kyle Martin; Laura Hovis; Leslie Horst; Adam and Bryan Karl; Great grandchildren: Landon Gesell; Kylie and Keira Martin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Harrisburg, PA at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, April 30, 2015. Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM till 12:00 Noon in the church. Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vision Resources of Central Pennsylvania, 1130 S. 19th St., Harrisburg, PA 17104 or Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
