Obituary of William L. Fouse
William "Bill" L. Fouse, 68, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 26, 2015 at his home, after a brief battle with brain cancer, with his loving family by his side. Bill was born April 14, 1947, the son of the late Virginia and William Fouse. After graduating from Central Dauphin High School in 1965, Bill served in Viet Nam with the United States Naval Reserves. Bill retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of General Services and was employed with Wilsbach Distributors prior to his illness. Bill was a active softball player, playing his final game 3 days before his diagnosis. He also enjoyed bowling, attending the Harrisburg Senators games and was a "die-hard" New York Yankees fan. Bill believed in volunteer service. He served his fellow veterans with the Dauphin County Veterans Honor Guard. He was a member of the Lower Paxton Lions Club and a past member of the Penbrook Lions Club, serving on various committees at the club, district and state level of Lionism and was a Melvin Jones Fellow recipient. He also assisted in many of the Penbrook Leo Club projects and served with Meals-on-Wheels. He is also a member at the American Legion Penbrook Post 730, a life-time member of the VFW Post 1718 and a former member of the Penbrook Fire Company and Penbrook Fire Police. Bill is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathleen (Fisher) Fouse; daughters, Salli A. Miller (Eric Stentzel) and Laurie A. Fouse-Miller (Stephen Miller); granddaughter, Emily Logan Miller and grandson, Gage Jackson Miller; siblings, Jacques Fouse, Sandra Bartholomeo (Dominic), Sharon Buskey (Gary Seiler) and Jeffrey Hall (Valerie). Bill is predeceased by his granddaughter Payton Carleigh Miller. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and his favorite "pals" Lizzy and Ginger. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the Penbrook Church of God, 2733 Canby Street, preceded by a visitation beginning at 1:00 PM with a Lions' Service of Remembrance to be held prior to the Memorial Service. The Dauphin County Veterans Honor Guard will perform an Honor Program at the conclusion of the Memorial Service. Internment will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bill's memory to the PA Lions Beacon Lodge Camp/Wounded Warriors Project, 114 State Rte 103, Mt. Union, PA 17066.
