Obituary of Charles R. Lapinsky

Charles R. Lapinsky, Sr., 93, of Lower Paxton Twp., peacefully passed away on Saturday August 15, 2020. He met and married the love of his life Helen (Petack) Lapinsky, who preceded him in death (2019). They were happily married and soul mates for 67 years. He was a beloved husband and father, and is survived by his son Chuck R. Lapinsky, Jr, daughter Lesa AJ Bickhart, sister Gloria Vadus, grandson Shane R. Lapinsky and great grandson Grayson Lapinsky. Charles served in the US Army in the Pacific theater during World War II in the 7th division, 49th field artillery, invading Okinawa. After the war he was sent to occupy Korea until honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. He graduated from Penn State, Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Education and was a member of Phi Betta Kappa. Charles was an Industrial Arts teacher for over 30 years at Susquehanna Township schools. He touched the lives of thousands of students over the years and his favorite phrase when teaching was that "CAN'T is NOT a Word!" He had compassion for all and truly made a positive impact in so many people's lives. Charles was a caring humble man who loved his family and friends. He had numerous talents and skills, and extremely accomplished in all his endeavors. He was a true friend to many and took pride in always willing to provide a hand to those in need. He will be desperately missed by his family and friends. Charles's family will receive condolences on Monday August 24, at Daily funeral home between 5-7 pm; The Funeral Mass is Tuesday August 25 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Margaret Mary Church, 2800 Paxton Church Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17110. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the St Jude Children's Foundation.
