Catherine Hegarty Obituary

Catherine Hegarty, age 88 of Harrisburg passed away Friday, November 26, 2021, at The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center with her family by her side. Born in County Donegal, Ireland on July 24, 1933, she was a daughter of Bridget and James Bonner and was preceded in death by her husband, Michael and her son, James. Surviving are one sister, Bridget (Denis), two brothers, John (Bella) and James (Atty), three sons, Michael (Rose), John (Lynn) and Hugh, daughter-in-law, Jean-Marie, five grandchildren, Matthew, Margaret, Jack, Hugh, and Brenden, and her beloved dog, Tank. She was a retired KinderCare pre-school teacher for 40 years and an active member of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church of Harrisburg for over 50 years, Catherine positively nurtured the lives of many people and loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. A viewing will be held Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at Gilbert L. Dailey Funeral Home, 650 S 28th St, Harrisburg, PA 17103. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church, 2800 Paxton Church Rd, Harrisburg, PA, 17110.
