Obituary of Patricia L. Malinoski

Patricia (Pat) Lou Hartz Malinoski, 90, of Lower Paxton Township passed at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Born September 26, 1931 in Palmyra, PA the daughter of the late Chester L. Hartz and Susan E. (Fite) Hartz. Preceded in death by her husband Clem “Mike”, teen daughter Marcella, brother Chester Hartz and sister Cheryl O’Neil. Pat is survived by four children: Theresa DiBacco (Peter) of Lower Paxton Township, Michael (Laura) of Dillsburg, Paul (Jeanette) of Lower Paxton Township, and Daniel (Tim Giordano) of Montclair, NJ, and an “adopted” son, James Akers of Harrisburg; five grandchildren: Paula DiBacco, Rocco (Erin) DiBacco, Ryan Malinoski (Jacki), Alexander Malinoski and Valerie Malinoski; four great-grandchildren: Olivia and Emma DiBacco and Justin and Maximus Malinoski; sisters Betty Bailey, Sandra Alexander and brother Richard (Kathy) Hartz and 18 nieces and nephews. Pat, known to many as Nan, was a woman of faith who loved her family and friends and the quiet way she helped her community. She enjoyed making and gifting baby afghans, infant hats for the hospitals, dish cloths, ceramics, Christmas cookies, soups and all the comfort foods of her Pennsylvania Dutch heritage that she lovingly shared with family, friends, and those in need. An avid card player in both untraditional poker and a wonderfully skilled partner in pinochle. A member of Holy Name of Jesus Church, funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at her church 6150 Allentown Boulevard, Harrisburg, PA. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM followed by Interment at Resurrection Cemetery in West Hanover Township. Masks are strongly encouraged for attendees. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Interfaith Shelter, 120 Willow Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109.
