Obituary of Mark G. Williams

Mark G. Williams (aka Willis) passed away peacefully on January 21, 2022 at UPMC West Shore Hospital in his wife’s embrace. Born July 29, 1954 in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Russell H. Williams and Elizabeth Kerwin Williams. He was also predeceased by his sister-in-law, Kris Green, brother-in-law, Kenneth Shoop and brother, Thomas Williams. He was a US Army veteran and retired tractor trailer driver for the United States Postal Service. He is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate, Barbara L. Williams (Stevens). She will remember him for his great sense of humor and their shared love of animals. Barb will always cherish their many adventures together, fishing locally, in the Poconos and spending time at the beach. Willis was an avid football fan and loved cheering on Notre Dame and the Raiders with Barb always by his side. Also mourning the loss are daughters, Mindy, Jacquie (husband Josh), Carol (husband Steve) and son, Mark; stepchildren, Rhiannon (husband Ed) and Justin (wife Lauren); grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Damek, Sydney Marilynn, Morgan, Evie, Sidney Jean, Ethan, Samuel, Isaac, Ryan, Evelyn, Mabel, Alexander, Fia, Celeste, and Arlo. Mark is also survived by his brothers, Russell H. Williams (wife Linda) and Michael Williams (Carla), and sister, Mary A. Shoop along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Willis will be laid to rest at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. To honor Willis’ wishes that his family and friends continue to be safe and responsible during the pandemic, a memorial service and celebration of his life will be held later this spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
