Obituary of Regina F. Zogby

Regina Zogby Died Tuesday March 8, 2022 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. Regina was born March 12, 1929 in Shenandoah, PA. She was the daughter of the late Sed and Celaney Mandour Zogby. Regina is preceded in death by all of her brothers Faris, Simon, Joseph and John and her sisters Marie Margaret, Marie Cecelia and Lila Sfeir and sister’s in-law Eileen, Kath and Linda, her brother-in-law Fred Sfeir and her nephew Charles. She is survived by her sister-in-law Joann, nephews Ed, Jackie, John, Terry, and Mark and their families, her nieces Eileen and Barbara and their families and many other great nieces and nephews and cousins. Her family and her faith were very important to her. A graduate of Moore College of Art and Marywood College. She is a 52-year veteran in Catholic education. She taught grades K through 12 in Art and Religion and Adult Education. She presented workshops in art for religious teachers in for them to integrate art in their religious classes. Regina taught in the Syracuse diocese in New York where she was asked to develop an art department in two catholic high schools. During her 31 years in the diocese, she was elected to the catholic school board, and served as the chairperson of the Salaries and Tuition Committee. Regina has served as president of the Utica Art Association, the Stanley Art Gallery, and was co-founder of the Paint and Palete, a group of women who painted and exhibited their artwork in central New York. She has participated in and chaired several art exhibits. Here in the Harrisburg diocese Regina taught art in the Cathedral School and art and religion in St. Margaret Mary School. She has judged several art exhibitions. Regina is the recipient of the 1997 Frederick J. Noel Distinguished Educator Award. Until recently Regina has volunteered at the Catholic Diocese in Harrisburg. Regina’s painting the Ascension of Christ is on display in the lobby at the Diocese. A visitation will be held Monday, March 14, 2022 from 9:30-11:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church, 2800 Paxton Church Road, Harrisburg PA 17112, followed by a funeral mass. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be may be made to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Church.
