Obituary of Charlotte L. Kerr

On May 14th, 2016, Charlotte departed this world to start her eternal life. She was born March 9th, 1942 in Klingerstown, Pennsylvania to Marie (Wiest) and Walter Bohner. Her mother, father, brother (David) and sister (Marcella) predeceased her. Charlotte was a loving individual of both people and animals. Her greatest joy was cooking and making sure everyone had enough to eat. She spent her career cooking for the students of Bishop McDevitt High School, the employees of the Pennsylvania State Police, Troop H, and the cadets of the Pennsylvania State Police Academy, from where she retired. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald Kerr, her savior and constant companion, Ginger (her chocolate lab), her son Lonnie Kerr, daughters Denise Wurster and Nicole McKim; and her sons-in-law, Michael Billo, William Wurster and Joseph McKim. She is also survived by her sisters Linda Kirkpatrick (Robert) and Tina Long (David). Also surviving are her prides and joy, her grandchildren, Tyler McKim, Chelsea and Travis Wurster, and her nephews, nieces and friends, all of whom she loved dearly. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Charlotte's life on Sunday, May 22nd, 2016 at the Gilbert L. Dailey Funeral Home, 650 South 28th Street, Harrisburg, PA 17103. Visitation will begin at 3:00 P.M. and conclude with a memorial service at 4:00 P.M. Immediate services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Donations to honor Charlotte's life can be made to the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA 17111.
