Obituary of William George Rodgers

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William G. Rodgers, 80, passed into eternal life at UPMC Community Osteopathic on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, surrounded by several loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Mary Ellen Lawler Rodgers, as well as his three sisters and four brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Alice Rodgers (Crouthamel) and their four children and spouses - Edward Fagan (Doris) of Lewisberry, Joan Ewing (Scott) of Harrisburg, Joseph Fagan of York, and Christina Rodgers-Morgan (Paul) of Harrisburg. He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. William, also known as Bill, Pop, and Pa Pah, was an avid Penn State football fan. He enjoyed tinkering with things around the house, and believed that almost anything could be fixed with some trusty duct tape, electrical tape, and gorilla glue. In his working years, Bill was a jack of many trades. He most enjoyed the time he worked as a codes enforcement officer for the Borough of Penbrook, a security officer for Hollywood Casino, and most recently as a security officer for Schaad Detective Agency. Outside of work, Bill’s passion was spending time with his wife and the many dogs they had over the years. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at Saint Theresa of the Infant Jesus Parish, 1300 Bridge Street, New Cumberland, PA, 17070, on Friday, April 21, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Harrisburg, Inc., 7790 Grayson Road, Harrisburg, PA, 17111.
