John F. Vugrinec, 71, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at UPMC Harrisburg hospital on Sunday August 6, 2023.

John was born in Harrisburg on November 6, 1951 to Steve and Mary Vugrinec who proceeded him in death.

John loved his family, most of all, his grandchildren; Tielor, Landon, Lianna and Emersyn along with his great grandson Kallum. In addition, John was also an avid sports fan of the New York Yankees and Bishop McDevitt football, but most of all Notre Dame football. He was a proud graduate and alumni of Bishop McDevitt High School, a member of the Crusader Club and served with the football program there for over 25 years. He also loved a good poker game and playing cards with friends often. He retired from the city of Harrisburg and was working at Parkmor, Inc., as a parking attendant after retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Pam, his son Aaron and his daughter Ashley, all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and his sister Linda of Weddington, North Carolina, his sister Ann of Honesdales, Pennsylvania, and his brother Bob of Corning, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his older brother Steve “Kansas” Vugrinec of Lewisberry, Pennsylvania. Everyone planning to attend the service is encouraged to wear Notre Dame, McDevitt or Yankees apparel.

A visitation will be held for John, Thursday, August 17, 2023, from 11-12 Noon with a service begging at Noon at Gilbert L. Dailey Funeral Home, 650 S. 28th Street, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, 17103. Burial Interment will be held on a later date, privately with the family.
