Obituary of Joseph F. Leiter

Joseph F. Leiter, 21, passed away unexpectedly on October 19, 2023. He was born to Jennifer and Frank Leiter on December 28, 2001, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Joe graduated from Bishop McDevitt High School, class of 2020, ran for the St. Margaret Mary School track team from 3rd to 8th grade, and was on the Bishop McDevitt High School cross-country team. He enjoyed running, hiking, basketball, competing in various races, doing back flips, and video games. After graduating, Joe worked as a warehouse worker. Joe is survived by his parents as well as his brother, Seth Leiter, grandparents Virginia Thompson and Richard Thompson, and Grandmother Evelyn Leiter. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Frank “Abe” Leiter, Jr. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 10:00AM at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, 2800 Paxton Church Road, Harrisburg, PA, 17110, with Mass to follow at 11:00AM. Burial will occur directly after mass at Resurrection Cemetery, 116 South Oak Grove Road, West Hanover Township, PA 17112. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Margaret Mary Athletic Association, 2848 Herr Street, Harrisburg, PA 17103.
