Janet M. Shradley, 91, of Fairview Township, York County, died Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the Lutheran Home at Topton, PA.
She retired from Messiah Village after 27 years of service in the food services group. She was a member of the Harrisburg Brethren in Christ Church and the Eberly’s Mills Church of God, Camp Hill. Janet was a loving sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She worked hard to raise her family and enjoyed every moment she had to spend with them. She loved playing games with her nieces and nephews and her grandsons and great grandchildren. She was outgoing and enjoyed spending time with her friends and people where she worked.
She was born, Janet Marie Pottieger on February 27, 1932 in Grantville, Dauphin County to Helen Weibley and Daniel Pottieger. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Arlene June Pottieger and her mother, Helen Weibley, and her son, Dean R. Shradley.
Surviving are her son and his wife, Wier M., Jr. (Max) and Patti J. Shradley of West Hanover Township, Dauphin County; her daughter in law, Mary B. Shradley of Fairview Township: and four grandsons and their wives, Michael and Chris Shradley, Matthew and Alicia Shradley, Joel and Kelley Shradley, and Ryan and Nayeli Shradley: and 14 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
A viewing will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at the Harrisburg Brethren in Christ Church at 2217 Derry St., Harrisburg PA (entrance to the sanctuary is along 22nd St.), followed by a memorial service at 11 AM officiated by Pastor Woody Dalton. Burial will be following the service at the Prospect Hill Cemetery at Market and 25th Streets in Harrisburg, PA.
