Obituary of Deacon Odell R. Simpson

Deacon Odell R. Simpson Sr., 77 of Harrisburg passed away on, June 24, 2015 in the Holy Spirit Hospital. Odell was born on February 26, 1938. He was a son to the late Addis and Bessie Mae (Williams) Simpson. Odell was retired as a roofer for Kittsmiller Roofing and Cumberland Janitorial Services for over 30 years. Odell was a founding member of the Martin Luther King Baptist Church of Harrisburg where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed singing gospel music. Surviving are his loving wife; Barbara Simpson, sons; Robert , Matthew , Elson, daughters; Lisa, Regina, Jennell, Jodi, brothers; Darryl, sisters; Vennicee , Nelvena , Nannette, Jeanette, 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild . He was predeceased in death by his mother and father, 2 brothers Edgar and Larry and 1 son Odell jr. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 12 noon. at the Dailey Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Lavette R. Paige officiating. A viewing will be held from 11am to 12 noon. prior to the service. The burial will be private.
