Lynn E. Petrasic Obituary

On Wednesday, July 31 st , Lynn E. Petrasic of Harrisburg was called home to heaven. Lynn was

born in Harrisburg, PA on August 5, 1934, to the late Vid J. Petrasic and Kathleen G. Petrasic

(Murphy).

Lynn attended the former Penbrook Elementary School and graduated from Harrisburg Catholic

High School (Bishop McDevitt High School). Lynn was also a reservist with the United States

Army. Lynn was a charter member of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque parish in Harrisburg and

worked at St. Margaret Mary School briefly when his sons were students there. During his career

Lynn was an architectural draftsman. He worked for multiple architectural firms over the years.

He retired from Gannett Fleming.

Lynn was an avid reader, especially science fiction. He was also an accomplished painter, having

painted hundreds of paintings over the years. He was especially fond of painting landscapes and

often went on walks to many local nature areas for inspiration for his paintings. In more recent

years, Lynn began painting more abstract outer space pieces.

After his wife’s passing, Lynn was heartbroken, but he enjoyed spending time with his family

and celebrating special occasions with them. When it became difficult for him to attend events in

person, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s events on livestreams or videos and even

FaceTime.

Lynn is predeceased by his parents Vid and Kathleen, his beloved wife of 61 years, Sondra

Petrasic (Deibler), a daughter-in-law (Teresa Valocci Petrasic), and an infant grandson (Kenneth

Sullivan lll). He is survived by three sons; Kevin Petrasic and his wife Jasmine of Mclean, VA,

Kerry Petrasic and his wife Tammy of Harrisburg, and Keith Petrasic and his wife Elizabeth of

Harrisburg, a daughter, Kathleen Sullivan and her husband Kenneth of Harrisburg, 14

grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
