Amechie O. Payne (Gee-Gee)

Amechie unexpectedly passed away on August 3 rd , 2024 at UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. The son

of John Payne and the late Rosemarie Patterson, Amechie attended Harrisburg High School,

Class of 1975, where he set a record while playing football and he also enjoyed playing

basketball and had a passion for all sports. After graduation he held multiple maintenance

positions. Amechie was a loving and giving person to all, he also had a special love for animals.

Amechie is proceeded in death by his mother, Rosemarie Patterson, his sister Debbie Gibson

and his son, James Payne. Amechie leaves to celebrate his life, his father, John Payne, his

brothers, Ernest Payne, Todd and Jay Gibson, his sister, Karen Steele his son, Amechie Walker

Sr. (Natalie), 9 grandchildren, Courtney Blanding (Jourdan), Amechie Walker Jr., Jaenyla

Thomas, London and Titus walker, Jayonce, Ceyone, Cajanae, and Aaminah Payne, numerous

aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Amechie will be missed by all, even the beloved animals he took care of.
