Scott M. Kaplin Obituary

Scott M. Kaplin age 52, of Mechanicsburg; passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Penn State

Hampden Medical Center. Scott was born on December 19, 1971 in Harrisburg and was the son to Alfred

W. Kaplin and Elaine S. (August) Zeigler.


Scott was a graduate of Hershey High School, class of 1990. After high school he attended Harrisburg

Area Community College. He furthered his education at Elizabethtown College. Scott was a member of

Daybreak Church of Mechanicsburg. He was an avid Penn State and Dallas Cowboys fan. Scott also

enjoyed cooking for his family and had a love of the great outdoors especially the animals he

encountered. Scott also enjoyed spending time at the beach.


Surviving are his daughters, Alexia J. Kaplin, Megan N. Kaplin, his father, Alfred W. Kaplin, his mother,

Elaine S. Zeigler and husband Robert, his sisters, Tracy R. Kaplin, Andrea B. Kaplin, Stephanie S.

Brantlinger and husband Lance, step-sisters, Tanya M. Zeigler, Laura L. Lex and several Nieces and

Nephews.


At Scott’s request there will be no formal services.


Contributions may be made in memory of Scott to, Daybreak Church 321 Gettysburg Pike,

Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 or the Humane Society of Harrisburg 7790 Grayson Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17111.


The family would like to thank everyone at Penn State Hampden Medical Center and Grane Hospice for all of the compassionate care shown to Scott and his family.
