Mitchell G. Bernard III, age 68; of Harrisburg passed away on December 9th 2024 in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. Mitchell was born on April 22, 1956 in Yonkers New York and was a son to the late Mitchell G. Bernard Jr. and Janet (Gray) Bernard. Mitchell was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He held many careers during his life, while living in Maine, He ran lobster, scallop, and long line fishing boat. After moving to Pennsylvania, he worked for both the Carpenters & Millwrights, and Pipefitters & Joiners unions. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, was a long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, and the NRA. He attended St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. He also loved his Jack Russel Terrier’s, Jack, Avery and their puppies Jackie & Jill aka, The Jack Pack. Surviving are two sisters and two brothers, sister Kathleen Depiero and husband Jimmy, brother Timothy Bernard and wife Marie, brother Lawrence Bernard, sister Elizabeth Turner and husband Bruce and many nephews and nieces. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 23, 2024 at 11:00 am; at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Annville, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mitchell’s favorite charities, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at stjude.org or Disabled Veterans of America (DVA) at dav.org
