Obituary of Donna L. Wenrich
Our sweet Mother and Grandmother, Donna Lee Wenrich, went home with Jesus on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at the age of 79. Donna lived all of her life in the Harrisburg area. Donna's greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. Her family meant everything to her, and she meant the world to her family. Donna's loving ways are memories that will always be cherished. Donna was there to support her family in both good and challenging times. Anyone who knew her, knew how kind and thoughtful she was to everyone in her life. She exemplified beauty, grace, selflessness, and a wonderful, never-ending love for her family and friends.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jonathan Wenrich Sr., and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Debra A. Wenrich, her son, Jonathan W. Wenrich, Jr. and his wife, Lori A. Wenrich, and her treasured granddaughters, Melissa N. Klock, Lindsey A. Klock, and Gretchen D. Wenrich, all of whom held a very special place in Donna's heart. She also had a nephew, Dr. Jeffrey W. Keiser, whom she enjoyed spending time with as well.
She was blessed with many friends throughout her lifetime, all of whom were very special to her. Donna enjoyed having time with them as well. She participated in card clubs, enjoyed many bus trips, shows, and meals out with her many circles of friends. Most of the conversations that she'd share with friends would be of her family, who absolutely loved and adored Donna beyond measure.
Family traditions were always something that Donna and her family held near and dear to their hearts. Donna enjoyed the time with "her girls" each Saturday going out shopping, which always resulted with an extra handbag or pair of shoes that she thought she needed. She enjoyed the Christmas cookie baking tradition with her daughter and two granddaughters. They often found her sneaking off with a cookie or two, just to make sure they were "okay for the rest of us to eat", which always gave us a warm smile on our faces. She was a soccer grandma who could often be spotted along the sidelines at games. Holiday traditions, birthday celebrations, and family cookouts are what brought the most joy to Donna's life, just simply being with her family.
Donna was a gift from God, an angel on earth, to her family. Her gift of endless love and adoration will be forever treasured and remembered. She will be deeply missed beyond measure by her family and loved ones.
Burial will be at Ft. Indiantown Gap. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church at 4700 Locust Lane, Harrisburg, PA 17109, when we are able to safely gather. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the church.
