Obituary of Edmund F. Ryan

Edmund F. Ryan Sr., 93 of Lower Paxton Twp. passed away on December 7th 2015 in Cape Fear Hospice Center of Bolivia, North Carolina. Edmund was born on September 7, 1922 in St. Claire, Schuylkill, Co., PA.; and was a son to the late Francis C. and Helen (Bosche) Ryan. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II as a tail gunner. He was a founding member of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church, Harrisburg. He retired from the Federal Government as Chief of Utilities for the Army War College of Carlisle. He was the widower of his beloved Catherine B. Ryan who preceded him in death in September 1995. Surviving are his children, a son; Robert J. and wife Susan J. Ryan of Lower Paxton Twp., daughters; Kathleen Ryan and husband David N. Mihalick of Johnstown, PA., Debra Ryan and husband Ronald A. Gamby of Lower Paxton Twp., Grandchildren; Ed and Jenn, Courtney, Mike and Nat, Martha, Nik and Em, Laura, Emily, Carl, and Alan. Great grandchildren, Shawn, Ani, Brynn, Juliet, Wyatt, Jett, Elysia, and Braylen. In addition to his parents and wife Edmund is also predeceased by a son, Edmund F. Ryan Jr., a brother Clarence Ryan, a sister Helen Juba, and two Great-grandchildren Grace and Cooper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. in St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church. A viewing will be held from 6 to 7 P.M. at the Church. Burial will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Cross Cemetery, Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Margaret Mary Catholic School and or the Marines at semperfifund.org. The Dailey Funeral Home Is Honored To Serve The Ryan Family.
