Obituary of Alice E. Russell

Alice Elizabeth Russell, 88, of Millerstown, PA., passed away Monday, March 14, 2016, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Alice was born in Millerstown, PA., on May 18, 1927, a daughter of the late Anna Elizabeth (Shotsberger) and Edward Clayton Lauver. She was a member of Millerstown United Methodist Church, a former Cub Scout Leader, and a volunteer at Turkey Valley Care and Share. Alice enjoyed being a caregiver to family and friends throughout her community. She also enjoyed gardening and most of all being with her family. Prior to the birth of her children, Alice worked for the former United Telephone of PA; Millerstown exchange. Alice was the widow of James David Russell who passed away in 1978. Alice is survived by her daughter, Gisele R. Shepler and husband Terry of Colonial Park, her son James A. Russell and his wife Angela of Millerstown. Four Grandchildren Alisha R. Johnson and husband Brad, J. Jared Russell and wife Michelle, and Gina N. and Danielle L. Shepler. Two Great Grandchildren - Emma F. Johnson and Tobias J. Russell. In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by her sister Myrtle M. Kauffman. Funeral Services will be held at Millerstown United Methodist Church, at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 with Pastor Wyatt Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 to 1:00 P.M. in the church. Burial will follow in Millerstown Riverview Cemetery. Alice's family would like to thank all of her caregivers from Angels on Call and Legacy Hospice for their support and love.
