Obituary of George M. Taylor
George M. (Skip) Taylor, 86, of Harrisburg, passed away Sunday, September 16th, at Harrisburg Hospital.
George was born in Pottstown, PA on July 21, 1932, a son of the late Margaret (Smith) and Malcolm Taylor.
He was a member of Paxton Presbyterian Church Harrisburg, PA
George was a graduate of Camp Hill High School, Class of 1950, and was a graduate of Wooster College, Wooster, Ohio.
He worked as a Manager at PA Dept of Public Welfare.
He was involved with the Lawnton Boy Scout Troop #42 for over 40 years; he was on the Swatara Township Sewer Authority for 24 years serving as secretary; the Lawnton Oakleigh Lions Club; and delivered Meals on Wheels.
George is survived by his wife Alice of 54 years; two sons Lawrence, husband of Mary of NY, and James Taylor of PA; and a sister, Jane Taylor of CO.
He is also survived by a grandson Robert Taylor.
George was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Taylor.
A viewing will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 10AM-11AM at the Paxton Presbyterian Church 3500 Sharon St. Harrisburg PA 17111.
Services will begin at 11AM on Friday after the viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Bethesda Mission, Downtown Daily Bread, or Paxton Presbyterian Church.
