Obituary of Homer S. Pontius

Homer S. Pontius, 85, of Harrisburg, passed away July 14, 2019. Born in Enola to the late John R. and Irene Pontius, he was the oldest of four siblings. Homer graduated from Susquehanna Township High School in 1952 and remained active in the alumni association. He was a member of Steelton-Swatara Lodge No. 775 F.&A.M., Zembo Shrine, Harrisburg Consistory, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Harrisburg Forest No. 43, and Penn Gardens Lions Club. He worked for Herre Brothers and H.B. Dissinger before opening his own business, Pontius Mechanical Contractors, from which he retired in 2000. He was preceded in death by wives, Janet and Alice, and son Jeffrey. He is survived by two sons, Christopher and Eric, and daughter, Paula; sister, Marilyn; two brothers, John and Ronald; and wife, Sue. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
