From 1985 to 1988, I lived in the upstairs apartment from Vesta on North 2nd Street. She was a very sweet lady, and she always treated me and my then-boyfriend, now husband, very well. I enjoyed the three years that I lived there. She sometimes fed me when I came home from work, or watched for me if I was out late. She had amazing stories to tell about her life, and about Wormleysburg. While I was living there, I came to like Wormleysburg so much that I decided to live there permanently. Unfortunately, after I moved out to get married, I lost touch with Vesta although I still live nearby. I remember speaking to a man who was walking through our neighborhood last summer, who told me that Vesta was no longer living at home. I was surprised when he told me that she was over 100 years old, because I hadn't known how old she was when I lived there. She always seemed so lively and on the go. I'm sure you will miss her very much. She was a great lady and I'm glad that I got to know her. Please accept my condolences.
