Laraine M. Forry, 76, of Lewisberry, Pennsylvania passed away Monday, August 28, 2023, at her sisters home in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania with her family. Laraine was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania the daughter of late Julia Marjorie Bahn Pelino and Ernie Pelino, Sr. who preceded her in death. Laraine is survived by her loving Husband of 50 years, Marlin Forry, whom she married in Steelton, Pennsylvania on March 31, 1973. Laraine and Marlin enjoyed traveling together and gathering with friends for dinner and outings. Laraine is also survived by her loving siblings; Sandy (Frank) Kocevar of Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, Ernie Pelino, Jr. of Florida, Dominic (Cathy) Pelino of Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, Marie (Glenn) Blattner of Georgia, Anne (George)Pelino Bechtel of Linglestown, Pennsylvania, and Michael (Mary) Pelino of Newport, Pennsylvania. Laraine is also survived by her 11 nieces and nephews whom she loved much. Laraine was a Renaissance Woman. Aside from being a devoted wife, sister, friend and entrepreneur, she was a Registered Respiratory Therapist, a Certified Rehab Technology Supplier, and a Compliance Executive who effectively advocated for improved patient insurance coverage in her state of Pennsylvania and Washington D.C. Serving on Committees at the state and national level within the Home Care Industry for the last four decades, her extensive knowledge of medical equipment, medical policy, insurance coverage and patient diagnoses positively improved Medicare and Medicaid policy, thereby helping so many in need. Her calm, factual approach to educating legislators earned their respect and informed their decisions. Our industry has lost a true leader, mentor, and wonderful friend. Laraine was a dedicated volunteer and supporter of the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition (PBCC). She gave freely of her time and talents raising nearly half a million dollars( $490,484.81) for the PBCC through the Toasting a Cure at the Vineyard Events, the Drive Out Breast Cancer campaign and her own personal giving. She was always happy to lend a hand at other community events beyond the ones she organized and share her passion for the PBCC’s mission. Her loss will be felt deeply by all friends of the organization. Laraine was a dedicated member of the LPGA Amateur golf association for over 12 years, running the league for most of that time. She is adoringly remembered for her uplifting attitude and zest for life, coordination of sparkly outfits for tournaments, and selfless attitude. She was the first person to send flowers to a struggling golf lady, and always encouraged everyone to “hit it over the trees” on hole number eight. She gave everything she had to her lifelong friends and Liberty Ladies. Laraine was a dedicated caregiver for her sister Sandy, whether it was walking around the neighborhood, outings at local businesses for groceries, spa appointments, doctor appointments or community events. Laraine and Sandy were constant companions. A viewing will be held for Laraine at Gilbert L. Dailey Funeral Home on September 6, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. ~ 11:00 A.M. with a Funeral Service starting at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jason Schwartzman.
